Hi Michael,

It seems that for that particular podcast the CsId value is not present.

You can confirm this by creating a separate view in PKS Podcasts list by including CsId column in it.

You can manually set this value (CsId) by editing the view in Datasheet mode. You will have to copy the CsId value from a different Podcast and paste it for other Podcast.

However if the CsID value is blank for every podcast then you need to check if the file is getting uploaded in your "UploadFolder".

If not, then you need to delete the existing UploadFolder virtual directory and recreate it. Don't forget to do an iisreset after that.

Hope this helps.

Parag,

I've encountered a similar problem with the Aug '09 beta.  The CsID value is blank for each of my uploaded files (an mp3 and wmv in separate podcasts).  The files are successfully getting uploaded to the server's "UploadFolder" and they do play back in the native windows media player, but when you select the option to Encode in Silverlight (make it compatible) you get the  "Error: 'length' is null or not an object" error described above.  I should also point out the basics:

Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
SQL 2008
Expression Encoder 3

One thing I haven't tried that might be *slightly* different from the instructions is that I set the physical upload path to c:\pks\upload, not a simple path right off the root of the c-drive.
Similarly to Michael, I also confirmed that I have no DIV "divPodcastFilesXml" tag in the entire podcast details page.  I'm pondering whether I will try to just update the script file and hardcode the path to what I assume is the encoder, but I'm not sure which file to hardcode to.  Looks like I need to dig further down the rabbit hole.

It appears the Encoder Service is running properly

I'm also getting this problem (amongst others), did anyone manage to resolve this? Seems to be a very fragile solution. I followed the instructions word-for-word but I'm now stuck with being unable to map all the metadata properties as they don't exist and other problems such as this one.

hay all BTW , i change all PKS to webparts and remove all xls files that founded in the module and make many changes in the windows service to encode the the video and convert it to FLV format and play FLV vedio .. really it's very good framework , i learned from the source code, but i still have a problem at upload speed .please if anyone test the upload speed :?
