Hi friends,

I am new in sharepoint. i have a task about a buila a podcast web application in sharepoint. According to the pks podcast tutorials i manage all these settings in my application, but when i upload a video file on the server it didn't show the duration time and size of the file eg.{00:00:00 (0 B)}. and when i clicked on this video by using home page that time it didn't run and displays a button in which "Video not playing? Make it compatible with Silverlight" this message shows.

when i checked in the "MediaEncoderService" log files it shows some error but still i can't solve this problem

Hi Gaurav,

To solve this issue you need to ensure few things:

1. First ensure that file MediaEncoderService.exe.config located at C:\Program Files\PKS\Media Encoder Service has the proper entries as specified in the Installation guide.
Please check following entry is correct in the MediaEncoderService.exe.config file:
<add key="configWeb" value="http://<sitename where PKS is deployed>" />

2. Verify that the entries in list PKS Configuartion Settings are proper for the following two items

MediaEncoder.MonitorPath       <physical path of the upload location>
MediaEncoder.MonitorWeb       http://<sitename>

3. Verify that entries are made in list PKS Media Encoder Monitor Locations for your list as specified in the Installation guide.
4. Verify that media encoder service is running.

Hope this helps.
