Thumbnails are not generated and Media Encoder service fails

Dec 16, 2008 at 3:59 AM
I am able to successfully upload a .wmv file using the silverlight controls. After the upload, the file size and duration are calculated. However, the thumbnail is not generated. The thumbnail never appears in the upload physical path. The Media Encoder log shows the following:

Right after clicking upload, I go to services and see that the Media Encoder service has stopped. I get the following message in the Application log of the server.

I already had this problem.

I get the following situation:

The time, size and the video was successfuly showed. However, just the thumbnail wasn't generated.

I discovered that it was a physical problem.
Due to a low memory ram, the video post coudn't generate the thumbnail in time, and it showed the video 'cause the delay.
I fixed it growing the memory ram. I was working in a virtual machine with 600mb Ram.
When I put 1.5gb of ram in the machine, it worked again.

What is your physical configurations ?
